Mechanical Engineer (Service and Project) in Liquid Natural Gas industry for both land based and ship based Cryogenic fuel pumps. Company is located in the Irvine, CA area.
Pay to $75K/year, depending on experience - please submit resume outlining work and salary history. This is a Direct Hire opportunity. Company offers pension and bonus plans.
Responsibilities:
This job requires work as a Mechanic on the floor or in the field.
This job is very hands-on and requires someone with good multi-tasking skills, a strong fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering, as it relates to rotating machinery and materials science at cryogenic temperatures, as well as strong drafting capability, knowledge, and experience.
This job requires proficiency in AutoCAD software, MS Excel, and tolerances used in rotating machinery.
Understanding and proficiency of 3D CAD/CAM software is helpful.
Worldwide travel will be required. When traveling, the work week can be 10-hour days, 7 days a week.
This job requires strong failure analysis skills, and quick "on your feet and outside the box" thinking.
Activities include reading blue prints, troubleshooting, creating solutions, and design of products.
Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
Strong leadership skills are required to keep the jobs moving ahead and on schedule.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and personnel, as well as conduct self in a professional manner.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Engineering; Masters degree preferred
PE License is preferred, but not a must
Mechanical Engineering experience in the Cryogenics industry is a must
3 D CAD/CAM, AutoCad, and MS Excel are a Must!
Prior military experience is a+
Ability and willing to travel for extended periods of time throughout the greater U.S. states and overseas - some trips are last minute, so availability is key
Valid U.S. passport needed (for travel purposes)
Essential responsibilities require person to be able to walk a flight of stairs - carrying up to 50 lbs - at any given time
