Job Description
Responsible for contacting insurance companies to ensure patient eligibility and to obtain necessary insurance pre-authorizations or pre-certifications. Ensure that procedures meet all Medicare or insurance medical necessity coverage requirements as well as obtain and document insurance benefit information, including co-payment, co-insurance, deductible, and out of pocket maximum amounts. Will also complete insurance verifications/pre-certifications prior to patient visit. 2 years experience verifying insurance in a hospital or surgery center preferred. Knowledge of in-network and out of network medical insurance plans preferred.
